Kenshiro Kuroshin Empty
PostSubject: Kenshiro Kuroshin   Kenshiro Kuroshin EmptyThu Oct 01, 2015 11:06 pm

Personal Information

First & Last Name: Kenshiro Kuroshin
Age: 15
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Black
Weight & Height: 176lbs (79.8kg) 5’7” (172.7cm)

Appearance & Clothing: Kenshiro generally wears black sleeveless shirts and look fitting black pants. The styles for the aforementioned articles of clothing tend to vary depending on where he is, but the one fairly static aspect of his wardrobe is his black hooded outfit that he wears for assassinations... or will wear one day for assassinations.
Regardless of the clothing, his attire hangs from a well chiseled frame with eyes that are just starting to show a hint of brightness. Something about his appearance is easily described as unsettling. Most tend to overlook something about it, but those that have sharp eyes and pay close attention can tell that he has the aura of someone who has killed before.

Special features:
Horizontal silver bar underneath his left eye going from the right side of the nose to the left ear.
The number “69” branded onto his cheek.

An obscene amount of scars covering the majority of his body.

Origin and family

Origin: Kenshiro was born in Meteor city, and was sold into slavery in the Balsa Islands as a gladiator and was forced to fight from age 7 to age 12 before the slave uprising where he was freed. If asked he will respond that he’s from NGL.

Family & close People: None that are alive or that would claim him as such that he’s aware of (As an OOC note I may make a sibling or something might happen in the future where unknown family members are made known but as of yet I have not made any solid plans for this)

Personality

Personality & Behaviour: Kenshiro has a tendency to be somewhat cold and dismissive at times, but he is also caring and extremely protective. Despite aspirations to create a group of assassins to take out certain key political figures within the Balsa Islands, he is neither of a dark mind nor heart and will readily throw himself into harm’s way in order to defend others. It should be noted that he is not suicidal, nor is he necessarily noble enough to face down an army, but he will do what he can to buy time for everyone to escape even in the middle of a major battle. While he doesn’t have anyone in his life that he calls friend, he is open to the idea of them and would be extremely loyal toward someone who had earned that title.

Strengths & Weaknesses:
Strengths:
Battle tested- Kenshiro was enslaved and forced to fight in gladiatorial fights against other kids, and then eventually adults. The fact that he is alive is more or less a miracle.
Combat Trained- Despite the luck that contributed to his survival, skill was also a major factor. He was required on multiple occasions to use weapons he was completely unfamiliar with, or cursed to use no weapon at all. It was due to the latter that he focused his training on unarmed combat and lightning quick reflexes. This also made it easier for him to use whatever weapon he happened to find himself holding from cestus to gladius, he was able to better himself in preparation of what was to come.
Intelligent- While some would call him stupid, it’s important to remember that text books, religious manuals, and documents of almost any kind were non-existent and completely useless to him. Most of his intelligence comes out during combat, tactical observation, tracking, and intuitive analysis. It doesn’t make him the perfect soldier, but it does give him an edge when on the run, hunting, fighting, or hiding.

Weaknesses:
Uneducated- Unfortunately, though intelligent, Kenshiro has never had an opportunity to get a formal education. In general he won’t track people using computers or other technological formats, nor will he use news-papers or any other written media. He is literate, but not to the extent that would be required to find things in periodicals and put complex pieces of information together in order to find something else. While it would technically be possible to overcome this weakness, he has no real desire to obtain an education and will resist it unless it becomes somehow important to his survival.

Scarred/recognizable- Despite wanting to create an assassination organization, the scars on his body make him very easily recognizable. It is for this reason that he plans to wear a hood, but were anyone to see a part of his bare flesh besides his arms they would be able to identify him fairly easily at a later date. In addition, anyone visiting from NGL or in the event he was to return to the Balsa Islands, would be able to tell from the brand on his cheek that he was a former slave. Due to this he is generally on edge. Additionally the scarring is more than just physical, and he frequently suffers from nightmares. This makes him a bit edgy in the mornings and can cause him to lash out and be generally violent when woken up.
Horrible with money- Due to the fact that most of his life he has been a slave, Kenshiro has no concept of money. One day he may be extremely frugal and refuse to spend money on anything, but the following day he might blow every cent on some sort of candy (Most often chocolate).

Goals: Ken dreams one day of correcting a lot of the problems in both meteor city and on the Balsa islands. For the latter, the primary concern seems to be the people running it. The slave rings weren’t exactly top secret, but the fact of the matter is that there is little to no real policing of those types of situations and escape is usually impossible.
Additionally, because he’s been able to surmise that the people that took him and his compatriots from meteor city that were taken to the Balsa Islands had to have been taken by someone with a hunter’s license. Thanks to this he has continued his training since escaping from slavery in order to stay sharp so that he can become a hunter.

History

It’s unknown to him and the people that ended up raising him whether or not he was born in meteor city or if someone just dropped him off there one day, but his earliest memories were of living within the city and having to earn his food. Whether it was by stealing what rations he could from the trucks that came in, or by stealing it from someone else, or just foraging for what he could in the trash that came into the city, Kenshiro had always had to work for what he wanted. On occasion the rare book or torn piece of paper would come in and he would try to look at that in order to occupy his time. From listening to people speak and the way the words seemed to sound like some of what they said he was able to piece some of it together and learn how to read, albeit on a fairly rudimentary level, nevertheless, he was functioning well considering his upbringing. It was a rough life, but it was fulfilling in its own way, but all of that changed when the armored trucks with blue eagles arrived and at the age of six, Kenshiro and everyone he knew and loved were either killed or captured.

Seventy-three people died that day, twenty two were taken from meteor city and transported somewhere else in the world, but seventeen were taken to the Balsa Islands, and Kenshiro was one of those seventeen. Never mind the fighting he had done against other kids in Meteor city, the gladiator training he had to endure was on an entirely different level. Sleep deprivation, whips, brutal sparring matches against other gladiator trainees, the testing, the mastery of weapons and forms, all of it was one nightmare after another. For the first three days of the training he didn’t even get any food because the experienced gladiators would pee in the food while the recruits were training. Of the Seventeen that went in, plus the other twenty from various other areas of the world, ten died from the training alone.

By age seven he was ready for the test that the veteran warriors had been waiting for and there were only eight people left of the twenty seven that made it through the first three days, nine including Ken. Every recruit was expected to survive in melee combat in a match against a tested gladiator. Two died before he went to complete his own test, but by this point he had stopped caring about the people he had lost since he couldn’t keep dealing with all the loss if he didn’t kill off his attachments.

During his own test, the gladiator he fought used a wooden cudgel with nails in it. The kid was only twelve, but he was already so built and so strong that he swung the large, heavy club as if it was made of feather-wood. Kenshiro, still considerably weaker than his opponent, chose to use elephant bone daggers. Despite the fact that the other boy had strength, experience, and weaponry, Ken’s balance played the bigger role and as he ducked a swing intended for his head, a hard punch into the back of the arm as it passed forced the boy to continue the swing, turning most of the way around and twisting an ankle. In an instant Ken was on top of him, bone dagger pressed against the back of the boy’s neck. That day he became the 69th slave of the Kuroshin house and an official gladiator, though on the same day, right after his match, the other slaves that had come in with him were all dead while only two remained with him. With only three of the recruits having made it into become gladiators, Kenshiro was expected to show extreme growth and form.

Over the course of the next five years, Kenshiro was forced to fight. His first two years were against other children and ferocious animals but he did prove to be well over skilled for those endeavors thanks to the fact that he would stay up and train at night some nights while the others were bathing. By age nine they were placing him in combat with adults simply to give the crowds more entertainment, but he didn’t manage as he once had. When fighting people in his own age group he had won his matches with barely a scratch on him, but by the end of the first year of fighting crazed berserk warriors with giant hammers or barbed fishing nets and tridents, he had so many scars on his body that his master thought the boy wouldn’t last more than another half a year. Despite the fact that he killed off a portion of his soul just to try to erase hesitation so that he could win, he was not suited to being a murderer and the scars on his body told that story. Still, battle after battle caused him more scars and more pain, until finally what remained was little more than animal.

At age eleven, a man was brought into the training area and trained much the same way he had been before. He watched as the man resisted the trainer, he watched as the man was thrown in a hole and had waste poured on him, he watched as the man survived his training effortlessly, he watched as the man was struck with a large wooden beam and just shrugged the blow off like it was nothing. All the watching started to get Kenshiro in tune with something different though. A brilliant golden aura emanated from the man and for the first time he could see some of the others using some sort of weird glow when they were training. He would later come to know that this technique was called Gyo. Another effect came to his attention one day when he watched the man that had been brought in, whose name was Kamui, block a wooden shield with his forearm and break the shield. Kenshiro later came to know this effect as Ko. When he finally was put against him for the test, Ken fought his hardest, but was defeated by Kamui with almost no effort.

Over the course of the next year, Kamui taught Kenshiro many things about nen use. He explained the principles of Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu, guiding him through the use of each one and the advanced techniques associated with each. Over the course of the year Ken mastered Gyo, In, En, Shu, Ken, Ko, and finally Ryu. The specifics of each technique were taught to him using the most brutal and fast methods possible.  This was so that he would be prepared by the same time the following year.

Over the course of the year, Kenshiro received more scars and injuries, but Kamui was there to heal him after his battles and they developed a friendship and so when his master and friend started a revolt that would rock the Balsa Islands and let everyone know what was going on, naturally he was behind him. Exactly one year after the day they started learning about Nen, the gladiators of the Kuroshin house slaughtered their masters and broke free, fleeing deep into the central regions in NGL.

After the revolt the slaves from the Kuroshin house moved from house to house, freeing slaves and training them as gladiators to further their uprising. The major problem though, came when NGL’s leaders started arming themselves with bullets and guns. The day before they went to face down NGL’s army, Kamui approached Kenshiro with a glass holding water with a leaf on the top of it. As it was explained as water divination, Ken poured his Ren into the glass where he discovered, after the water changed to a sickly sweet syrupy solution, that he was a transmuter. Unsure of exactly what to do with that information, he readied his weapons to fight with everyone else, but Kamui insisted that he stay back and record everything, it might be necessary for him to finish what they had started if things didn’t go according to plan.

Almost as if it had been prophesized, things didn’t go according to plan. Not only had the army been expecting the slave result to carry to their very door step, they had armed themselves with guns and were simply blasting bullets into the crowd. In almost no time the only gladiators still standing were Kamui and two others and that only lasted until the army reloaded, with only three targets only Kamui made it up to the actual gun line before finally collapsing from his injuries. With the only real family he had known in the last five years gone, Kenshiro left, jumping on a boat leaving the Balsa Islands and heading toward the main continent.

For the last three years Ken has been training, learning, and growing into a fine warrior, but he has discovered three major factors that have altered his life. After a random encounter with a young woman whom he had tried to speak to, but failed to properly communicate his intent he was zapped with a stun gun. The effect knocked him out, but also fascinated him and he decided that something like that was perfect for his aura. He immediately wasted all of the money he had found or gathered on a stun gun and began applying it to himself. With almost no understanding of how electricity actually worked, he has been instinctively learning to apply it in some fairly unconventional… not to mention advanced methods. The other thing he discovered was that, while he had escaped from NGL fairly easily, the only method to get back into the country was to have a hunter’s license.  Once he found this out, he knew what he had to do and he set out to get his hunter’s license and start the process of getting back into the country to take out the supply trains, leaders, and eventually restart the entire political systems.

Kenshiro slid his right foot forward, charging the electrical energy he had started to become accustomed to in order to decrease the friction around him. His body crackled with electricity as the electromagnetic field around him formed a buffer for him to move. The electrical energy crackled more frantically for a split second before stabilizing and the light shimmer let him know he was ready. What energy wasn’t being used for his hatsu was being used to see what was going on. Briefly, he saw his opponent flicker his aura to do… something. While unsure of what it was, he suspected it was an attack.
”Emitter.” He thought to himself, assessing why his opponent would be so quiet and still. Just as a hand burst out of the ground to try to grab him Ken zipped forward, channeling all of the energy from his aura into a forward cone, and blasting electricity toward his opponent. Suddenly he found himself surrounded by multiple opponents and he sprang into action, disappearing and reappearing beside several of them, quick bursts of electricity slamming giant craters into the ground before suddenly erupting into a huge cloud of lightning.

As the first light of morning slipped through the blinds on the window, Kenshiro woke shaking his head lightly and remembering how powerful he felt in that dream.
”Someday…” He said to himself with a sigh as he covered the right side of his face with his right hand as he sat up and groaned. One day he would find a way to be that powerful, but he had no idea where to start to get there.

Cleaned up sheets. Generally acceptable, though as usual, i'll advise about Nen theming. The theme in itself can be a bit more overarching in it's naming and description, as it mostly just means how you will flavour your different Nen abilities. Those are what ultimately decides what you can do with your e.G. Transmuter Nen (that you will have to apply seperately after being entirely approved on the Bio itself). It is, however, just a suggestion and you can decide for yourself if you want this as your theme for all your Nen Types or detail it out a bit more.

Otherwise ready for approval and repost.
